Description of the situation and problems
The situation in the region
of Toplica is alarming. TV “Grk” wants to reveal the conduct of the regime
of Slobodan Milosevic by these projects. Holding the authority was the only aim
of the previous regime even though health and lives of people were in danger.
Water from the river Toplica is not for drinking. What
are the factors that caused it, I will try to explain in the project: Toplica
– river of life or death? So, the inhabitants of this region get water from a
small lake which is continiauly drying up. The normal water level in this lake
is 19m but now is about 2m. So, about 80% of population does not have drinking
water. Any talk about water for personal hygiene is unthinkable. Many diseases
or illnesses can be incured because of bad water quality. Officials hide the
truth but it is evident.
In such situations, bad standard
of people is even more stressed.. Many factories do not work, average salary in
Prokuplje is about 35-40DM, and many families are four-membered.
That is the reason of initiating an uncompromising battle
for revealing the truth, those who are responsible for human and ecological
catastrophy must be named.

Description of the production
1.
River Toplica used to be the healthies river in Serbia. Five mineral spring
resorts known in the whole world, flow into it. Kurshumlijska, Prolom, Lukovska,
and mineral springs of Vicha and Suva cesma. The inhabitants used to drink water
30 years ago. They are still drinking but… Behind the mouth of river,
factories were built. Some of them, allow their poisonous material flow into the
river. It is known that the whole region of Toplica use this water for drinking.
The region of Toplica is among the leading regions in Europe with a number of
cancer or kidney diseased people, as well as percentage of mortality. Is there
any end to it? What do the doctors, ecologist, ordinary people say? Can we make
our lives longer?
